Introduction to my #memadewardrobe

"checker glam" line up
I started a self encouraging project for myself. Since I start earning by myself for a while, I become more considerate what I purchase for my clothing, and I came across with a lot of YouTube video of those creative creators doing marvelous garments with home sewing. Well, I was deeply impressed and would like to my own clothing immediately.
That's why this things happened...
This “Self Love” / #memadewardrobe is an ongoing project, which I hope at the end of the day, I was able to master all the garments of all types, solely loved and made for myself to appreciate and to wears and tears.
In every steps of the making, conscious decisions are made. Material are sourced from my wardrobe(aka old clothes)/ dead stock from supplier/ leftover throughout my sewing journeys. Still, sometime the perfect one cannot be found, but buying natural fiber materials are preferred.
Part ONE and first attempt of #memadewardrobe

The start was not always easy, this checker fabric I had owned for a couples years, and it is synthetic materials mixed with wool.

Heart Bag (made with old skirt)
Most of the beads and jewel are leftover since my uni course.
I guess I will give it a 2 stars out of 5 in this attempt. Not very satisfied but I have make a good use of my leftover materials.
**New Preppy look, pleats/beret/big bow/checker are always my go-to favorites elements.

My favorite is the bucket hat, I attached a piece of dark brown to create a veil, which is quite a hit item on runway apparently, but sadly I failed to give it a decent shoot. Let's look forward to the time when I have a good chance to go out and have a shoot with it.
**My own modern interpretation of Preppy style, which originally oriented from the "old money aesthetic" which I learnt recently from bunch of online secondary resources.

Very interesting to know your making process. Would not have guessed that the fabric was from old fabric. Looks so good!!
